Court judgment translation

When is it used in Croatia?

A foreign judgment may be translated for proceedings in a Croatian court, a lawyer, competent authority or another recipient. Recognition or enforcement may require additional documents alongside the judgment.

When is it used abroad?

A Croatian judgment may be translated for court or administrative proceedings abroad, personal status records or exercising a right. Required supporting documents depend on the country and type of case.

When might you need this document translated?

  • A divorce judgment for registering a change in personal status.
  • A decision used to pursue cross-border rights or claims.
  • A judgment and certificate of finality for an overseas recipient.

When do you need a certified translation?

A court interpreter prepares the certified translation according to the procedureโ€™s requirements. Translation does not automatically recognise a judgment or make it enforceable abroad. Consult the competent authority or your legal representative about the procedure and necessary certificates.

What should you send us?

Send the complete decision, every page, any certificate of finality or enforceability issued, and the forms and annexes requested by the recipient.

Inovatus works with court interpreters to provide certified translations. Before we start, we agree the languages, scope, deadline and delivery or collection arrangements. To request a quote, tell us where you will submit the document and share any instructions you have received.

Which languages do we work with?

Choose a language to find out about translation and certification. We will agree how to deliver your certified translation once we have reviewed the document and its intended use.
