Turkish court interpreter – documents from Turkey, personal names and legal proceedings

What you need to know
• Turkish characters ğ, ı, İ, ş, ç, ö and ü are important in names and titles
• registry and legal documents require consistent transfer of personal data
• older documents and seals may use different official names than modern forms

We translate civil registry, legal, employment, educational and business documents between Turkish and Croatian. For certified translation or official interpreting, we check suitable court interpreter availability and the receiving authority’s requirements before confirming the assignment. After reviewing all pages, we provide a quote with the scope, price, turnaround and delivery.

Turkish documents may contain official abbreviations, electronic verification marks, seals and special characters such as ğ, ı, İ, ş and ç. We reproduce these consistently and compare names with the passport or another identity document. The whole document is reviewed so that illegible and bilingual sections are included in the assessment.

Turkish documents for registry, legal and business procedures

Citizens most often need a translation for marriage, residence registration, citizenship, recognition or evaluation of a foreign educational qualification, employment, inheritance or court case. Companies order it for contracts, supplier documentation, certificates, instructions, customs and corporate documents. For official submission, it is important to determine in advance whether a certified translation is required and whether it must be bound with the original or a copy.

Turkish documents that we translate most often

  • Extracts from registers, marriage certificates and family documents
  • Criminal record, residence and citizenship certificates, and administrative decisions
  • Court decisions, indictments, powers of attorney and notary documents
  • Diplomas, school certificates, academic transcripts and qualification certificates
  • Employment contracts, business contracts, offers and invoices
  • Technical specifications, product certificates and import documentation

This list covers commonly requested documents but is not exhaustive. You may send other documents for Turkish translation. We check older seals, Turkish characters and the official Latin-script spelling of personal names.

Turkish letters, personal names and official terminology

For Turkish documents, we check special letters, official name records, electronic markings and legibility of seals; older or obscure records are evaluated separately.

When a certified translation is requested for the Turkish language

A certified translation for official use is prepared by an appointed permanent court interpreter for Turkish who accepts the requested language pair, where this form is accepted by the receiving authority. We check seal legibility, source and target languages and names in the identity document. If direct certification is unavailable, we seek confirmation from the competent authority. Check the number of copies, attachment to an original or copy, and any Apostille requirement before ordering.

Interpretation: Turkish and Croatian in official and business situations

We arrange interpreting between Turkish and Croatian for business meetings, appointments with a notary or registrar, court and administrative proceedings and other official appointments agreed in advance. If the organiser or relevant authority requires an appointed permanent court interpreter, please tell us when you enquire. We confirm the booking once we have checked the location, date, duration, subject and any documents needed for preparation.

Does the Turkish document need an Apostille or other authentication?

Certification by a court interpreter does not replace an Apostille or other legalisation. The requirements depend on the document, the countries involved and the receiving authority. Check which steps are needed and in what order before arranging your translation. Read more in our Apostille guide.

Checking the Turkish document before confirming the price and deadline

Your quote clearly sets out the scope, source and target languages, certification, total price, deadline and delivery arrangements. For these documents, we pay particular attention to the legibility of older seals, special Turkish letters and the official Latin-script spelling of personal names.

What to send for an accurate evaluation of the Turkish document

  1. Send a readable PDF or photos of the entire document for Turkish translation, with visible edges, stamps and signatures.
  2. Tell us the source and target languages, country of issue, intended use, deadline and any certification requirements. For interpreting, include the location, date and expected duration. We pay particular attention to the legibility of older seals, special Turkish letters and the official Latin-script spelling of personal names.
  3. After review, we provide a clear quote for Turkish translation, specifying the pages covered, certification, price, turnaround and collection or delivery arrangements.
  4. We translate the agreed material and check that every part of the document has been included. We then bind the certified translation and deliver it as arranged.

What affects the price and deadline of the Turkish translation?

For Turkish, document translation and interpreting are priced differently. Translation costs depend on the length and complexity of the document, legibility, stamps, certification and deadline. Interpreting costs depend on the duration, location, preparation and any travel required. The final amount is affected by the condition of the original, the number of stamps, legal terminology and the required number of certified copies. Your quote sets out the total price, the deadline, the availability of certification and the delivery arrangements.
