Court interpreter for Hungarian – names, real estate and cross-border documents
• the order of surnames and first names may differ from Croatian practice
• long diacritics such as ő and ű are important in personal and official names
• real estate, transport and social documents require precise terminology
We prepare translations from Hungarian to Croatian and from Croatian to Hungarian for real estate, work, vehicles, inheritance and cross-border procedures. For certified translation or official interpreting, we check suitable court interpreter availability and the receiving authority’s requirements before confirming the assignment. After reviewing the complete document, we send you a quote covering the scope, total price, deadline and delivery arrangements.
Hungarian is structurally different from Croatian, so literal translation often gives an unnatural or wrong result. We pay particular attention to the order of personal names, long letters ő and ű, official abbreviations and the function of the institution that issued the document. Order of names, diacritics and official titles in Hungarian documents
In Hungarian documents, the surname may appear before the personal name. In the translation, we do not change the order automatically, but harmonize it with the official entry in the passport and the needs of the body to which the document is submitted. This avoids replacing the first and last name.
The letters á, é, í, ó, ö, ő, ú, ü and ű are part of official names and data. We do not simplify them without basis. In the case of real estate and legal texts, we pay particular attention to the relationships between the parties, lot numbers and dates.
Certified Hungarian translation – what to check before official submission
A certified translation for official use is prepared by an appointed permanent court interpreter for Hungarian, subject to availability and the receiving authority’s requirements. Before accepting the assignment, we check the way the name is written, the institution to which the document is submitted and the number of certified copies. If direct certification is unavailable, we ask the relevant authority to confirm whether an alternative is acceptable. Before you order, we also check the number of copies, whether the translation must be attached to the original or a copy, and any Apostille requirements.
Hungarian interpretation for meetings and official procedures
We arrange interpreting between Hungarian and Croatian for business meetings, appointments with a notary or registrar, court and administrative proceedings and other official appointments agreed in advance. If the organiser or relevant authority requires an appointed permanent court interpreter, please tell us when you enquire. We confirm the booking once we have checked the location, date, duration, subject and any documents needed for preparation.
Authentication of the Hungarian document for international use
Before using a document abroad, ask the receiving organisation whether it requires a certified translation, an Apostille, other legalisation or a combination of these. Confirm the requirements before arranging the translation. For practical guidance, see our Apostille guide.

Evaluation of the price of the Hungarian translation after reviewing the document
For Hungarian, document translation and interpreting are priced differently. Translation costs depend on the length and complexity of the document, legibility, stamps, certification and deadline. Interpreting costs depend on the duration, location, preparation and any travel required. The final amount is affected by the complexity of Hungarian official names, plates, seals and deadlines. Your quote sets out the total price, the deadline, the availability of certification and the delivery arrangements.
