Court interpreter for the Bulgarian language – Cyrillic, personal data and official documents
• Bulgarian Cyrillic must be linked to the Latin entry in the passport
• personal names can have several Latin forms in different documents
• work, legal and educational documents require verification of seals and official abbreviations
We make translations from Bulgarian to Croatian and from Croatian to Bulgarian for birth certificates, work, education, legal procedures and business. For certified translation or official interpreting, we check suitable court interpreter availability and the receiving authority’s requirements before confirming the assignment. After reviewing the complete document, we send you a quote covering the scope, total price, deadline and delivery arrangements.
For names, the official Latin form from the passport is preferred. If the Bulgarian original or an older document uses a different notation, we note the difference and match it with the purpose of the translation. This avoids the same person being recorded under a different surname in different documents. For a wider overview of available language pairs, open the page European languages.
Bulgarian documents for work, education and personal procedures
Most often, employment contracts, employer’s certificates, birth and marriage certificates, criminal record certificates and other official certificates, diplomas and vehicle documentation are translated. Companies need translations of register extracts, contracts, invoices and transport documents. For official surrender in Croatia, it should be checked whether a certified translation by a permanent court interpreter is required.
Bulgarian documents that we translate most often
- Birth certificates, certificates of residence and citizenship
- Criminal record certificates and administrative decisions
- Employment contracts, employer certificates and tax documents
- Diplomas, school certificates and qualification certificates
- Vehicle registration certificates, vehicle contracts and insurance
- Court, notarial, business and transport documents
This list covers commonly requested documents, but is not exhaustive. You can also send another type of document for Bulgarian translation, we pay particular attention to the Cyrillic script, the official transliteration and the matching of the name with the passport.
Bulgarian Cyrillic and Latin notation of personal names
Bulgarian is written in Cyrillic, but international documents specify the Latin form as well. For the translation used before the Croatian body, we compare both records and follow the passport.
We do not transmit official abbreviations and names of institutions as a series of letters without explanation. When necessary, we translate their function and leave the original markup for easier verification.
When a certified translation is requested for the Bulgarian language
A certified translation for official use is prepared by an appointed permanent court interpreter for Bulgarian, subject to availability and the receiving authority’s requirements. Before accepting the assignment, we check the Latin form of the name, the type of document and the number of certified copies. If direct certification is unavailable, we ask the relevant authority to confirm whether an alternative is acceptable. Before you order, we also check the number of copies, whether the translation must be attached to the original or a copy, and any Apostille requirements.
Interpretation: Bulgarian and Croatian in official and business situations
We arrange interpreting between Bulgarian and Croatian for business meetings, appointments with a notary or registrar, court and administrative proceedings and other official appointments agreed in advance. If the organiser or relevant authority requires an appointed permanent court interpreter, please tell us when you enquire. We confirm the booking once we have checked the location, date, duration, subject and any documents needed for preparation.
Does the Bulgarian document need an Apostille or other authentication?
Certification by a court interpreter does not replace an Apostille or other legalisation. The requirements depend on the document, the countries involved and the receiving authority. Check which steps are needed and in what order before arranging your translation. Read more in our Apostille guide.
Checking the Bulgarian document before confirming the price and deadline
Your quote clearly sets out the scope, source and target languages, certification, total price, deadline and delivery arrangements. For these documents, we pay particular attention to the Cyrillic script, the official transliteration and the matching of the name with the passport.
What to send for an accurate assessment of the Bulgarian document
- Send a clear, complete copy of your document, including all stamps, notes and attachments, so we can assess the translation requirements.
- Tell us the source and target languages, country of issue, intended use, deadline and any certification requirements. For interpreting, include the location, date and expected duration. In particular, we will check the Cyrillic script, the official transliteration and the matching of the name with the passport.
- After checking the Bulgarian text and the request of the recipient, we confirm the translator, the available form of certification, the price and the realistic delivery date.
- We translate the agreed material and check that every part of the document has been included. We then bind the certified translation and deliver it as arranged.
What affects the price and deadline of the Bulgarian translation?
For Bulgarian, document translation and interpreting are priced differently. Translation costs depend on the length and complexity of the document, legibility, stamps, certification and deadline. Interpreting costs depend on the duration, location, preparation and any travel required. We review the text, tables, handwritten sections, seals and attachments and then determine the scope, price and delivery date. The possibility of urgent translation is confirmed after checking the quality of the original and the certification procedure. We pay particular attention to the Cyrillic script, the official transliteration and the matching of the name with the passport.
