Court interpreter for the Tajik language – documents from Tajikistan in Tajik and Russian
• Tajik is related to Persian, but it is not a Farsi document
• contemporary official Tajik uses the Cyrillic alphabet
• Russian and Tajik content can appear in the same document
Tajik is related to Persian, but contemporary official documents in Tajikistan use the Cyrillic alphabet and their own administrative context. Russian can stand parallel or in older adverbs, so each linguistic part needs to be identified before determining the scope. Information about the procedure is available on the site certified translations by court interpreters.
Tajik is related to Persian, but in modern official documents it is mostly written in Cyrillic and is treated as a separate language pair. Documents may contain Russian parallel parts, abbreviations or older forms. The translation is therefore assigned according to the actual language of the text, and not just according to the origin of the word. For a wider overview of available language pairs, open the page Asian languages.
When is a Tajik court interpreter needed?
Most often, personal and birth documents, certificates of criminal record, diplomas, employment contracts, declarations and residence documents are translated. In the case of multilingual documents, each part is recorded before assessing the possibility of authentication.

- Employment contracts and residence documents

This list covers commonly requested documents, but is not exhaustive. You can also send another type of document for Tajik language translation, we pay particular attention to Tajik Cyrillic, Russian parallel parts, the difference from Farsi, the official Latin-script spelling of names and seals.
Tajikistan: Tajik is related to Persian, but official documents have their own Cyrillic norm
Tajik is historically and linguistically close to Persian, but in Tajikistan it is written as standard in an adapted Cyrillic script and has its own official terminology. The document is therefore not translated as “Farsi in Cyrillic”, but according to the actual Tajik text and the issuing authority.
For personal names, we check the official Latin form from the passport. If the Russian and Tajik records differ, we do not arbitrarily choose one, but resolve the difference according to the documents used in the procedure.
Tajik Cyrillic
Special Tajik Cyrillic letters are important for names and titles. For lower-quality copies, we check each character and do not rely only on a similar Russian word form.
Russian parts of the document
Registry, educational and administrative documents may contain a Russian parallel text, stamp or note. We mark each such part and include it in the estimate so that the final translation is complete.
Personal names and patronymics
For personal data, we compare the Tajik Cyrillic script, the patronymic and the Latin form from the passport. We connect different transliterations consistently and do not change the official passport record.
Document authentication from Tajikistan – what to check before ordering
For official use, we first check whether a permanent court interpreter for the Tajik language is available for the requested language pair and whether the body to which the document is submitted accepts such a form. If direct certification is unavailable, we ask the relevant authority to confirm whether an alternative is acceptable. Before quoting, we check Tajik Cyrillic, Russian parallel parts, difference from Farsi, official Latin-script spelling of names and stamps. We also confirm the number of copies, whether the translation must be attached to the original or a copy, and any Apostille or other legalisation requirements specified by the recipient.
Interpretation: Tajik and Croatian in official and business situations
We arrange interpreting for business meetings, appointments with a notary or registrar, conversations with the employer, court and administrative proceedings and other official appointments agreed in advance. For the Tajik language, before booking, we check the variant or regional form when relevant, the place, date, duration and topic. If the organiser or competent authority requires the presence of a permanent court interpreter, this should be stated when sending the request.
Apostille and legalisation for a document from Tajikistan
A certified translation and an Apostille serve different purposes. Legalisation requirements depend on where the document was issued, where it will be used and the receiving authority. Before ordering, check whether you need the original or a certified copy, and whether legalisation must come before translation. You can find practical advice in our Apostille guide.
What we check before confirming the Tajik translation
Before quoting, we check three things in particular: Tajik is related to Persian, but it is not a Farsi document; contemporary official Tajik uses the Cyrillic alphabet; Russian and Tajik content can appear in the same document. We then confirm the scope, source and target languages, available form of certification, total price, deadline and delivery arrangements. Your quote reflects the actual work involved, rather than an estimate based only on page count.
What to send for an accurate assessment of a document from Tajikistan
- Before quoting, please provide a complete and legible copy of the document in the Tajik language, not just the main text pages.
- Specify the source and target languages, the country of issue, the purpose of use, the requested deadline and information about the certification. In particular, we will check the Tajik Cyrillic alphabet, Russian parallel parts, the difference from Farsi, the official Latin-script spelling of names and seals.
- Upon completion of the review, we send a clear offer for the Tajik translation: coverage of pages, form of certification, price, deadline and collection or delivery arrangements.
- Once you accept our quote, we translate the document and check the language and details before delivery. We agree in advance whether you need a digital file, a paper copy or both.
What affects the price and deadline of document translation from Tajikistan?
The price of a written translation is mostly influenced by the amount of text, topic expertise, legibility, stamps, source and target languages, certification and deadline. Duration, location, preparation and travel expenses are important for interpreting. The rare language pair, bilingual patterns, and the need to distinguish Tajik from Russian or Persian can affect the deadline. We state the exact amount and deadline only after reviewing the material and confirming the availability of the appropriate specialist.
