Birth certificate translation for official use
A birth certificate or birth register extract contains information about a person’s birth and entry in the civil register. Formats, document names and the information included vary between countries. We also translate accompanying notes, seals and additional authentication.
When is it used in Croatia?
A foreign birth certificate may be needed to enter facts in Croatian registers, get married, complete a personal status procedure or serve another purpose specified by a competent authority.
When is it used abroad?
Croatian birth certificates may be translated for foreign registry offices, administrative authorities, educational institutions or other recipients. Before ordering, check whether a multilingual extract or a suitable multilingual form can be used.

When do you need a certified translation?
A certified translation is not needed in every situation. Certain public documents benefit from simplified rules between EU member states, and multilingual documents may reduce the need for translation. If a certified translation is requested, a court interpreter for the relevant language prepares it.
What should you send us?
Send the complete birth certificate and the recipient’s instructions, including any requirement for a recent issue date. Include the apostille if the document already has one.
