Language support for foreign workers
When employees do not sufficiently understand the training language, an interpreter helps them communicate with the trainer. The service can support group or individual training and explanations of work procedures. The responsible training organiser determines the programme, specialist requirements and assessment method.
How does interpreting work?
In consecutive interpreting, the trainer speaks in short segments and the interpreter conveys each segment afterwards. Allow time for interpreting, clarification and questions. For practical sessions, agree site access, interpreter positioning and protective equipment beforehand.
The interpreter provides language support, does not replace the qualified trainer, does not issue training certificates and does not answer assessment questions for participants.
Preparation for your workplace
Send presentations, instructions, machine names and task descriptions for terminology preparation. State the language and variety workers actually understand; nationality alone does not determine the appropriate language.
If you also need written instructions, see technical translation and training material translation. For wider employee support, read about workshops for foreign workers.
What should you send for a quote?
- Source and target languages and the number of participants.
- Venue, date and expected duration.
- Industry, roles and programme.
- Preparation materials and details of practical sessions.
- Entry requirements and protective equipment.
After reviewing your enquiry, we check interpreter availability and confirm price, scope and timing. Certified document translation is agreed separately.
Frequently asked questions
Is remote interpreting possible?
This depends on the organiser’s programme and delivery method. Check suitability for practical sessions and the technical arrangements before confirming the service.
When should I enquire?
As soon as the approximate date is known. Availability depends on language and location; allow sufficient preparation time with the specialist materials.
