Passport translation for official use
A passport is an official travel document containing its holderโs identity and citizenship details. A procedure may require translation of the identity page, specified entries or several pages containing visas and stamps.

When is it used in Croatia?
A foreign passport may be translated for a Croatian authority, notary, court or another recipient when information is required in Croatian. The presence of multilingual information does not determine whether translation is required.
When is it used abroad?
A Croatian passport is translated only when requested by the overseas recipient. The scope depends on the procedure; do not assume every blank page needs translation.
When might you need this document translated?
- Translation of identity details for an official matter.
- Translation of entries or stamps that establish a relevant fact.
- Documents for a bank or notary according to their instructions.
When do you need a certified translation?
A court interpreter certifies the translation of the requested pages. The translation is not a new travel document or a replacement for the original. A request for a certified copy is separate from certification of a translation.
What should you send us?
Send a legible copy of the relevant pages, an exact list of pages to translate and the recipientโs instructions. We reproduce personal details consistently with the original.
Inovatus works with court interpreters to provide certified translations. Before we start, we agree the languages, scope, deadline and delivery or collection arrangements. To request a quote, tell us where you will submit the document and share any instructions you have received.
Which languages do we work with?
Choose a language to find out about translation and certification. We will agree how to deliver your certified translation once we have reviewed the document and its intended use.
